Why not to get involved in narcotics for pain relief:
It was January 29th, 2010. I was driving to
pick my on up from school when the snow began to fall- The snow was coming down hard and fast. I had no idea that my life was about to change in a matter of
minutes. It took all of 15 minutes and my car slid on some black ice. I rolled
down a 20 foot embankment and was lying there helpless. It was a silent rolling
that happened in slow motion an just a few seconds. After the paramedics and the
hospital, came my prescription for Oxycodone. With a cracked shoulder bone, I
was in pain and the correct Oxycodone dosage was important. But the Oxycodone
dosage the doctor prescribed was more than enough for me. I found myself
itching all over and feeling irritable even with a mild Oxycodone dosage.
Oxycodone (Percocet) can affect people in different ways. It
is a narcotic, so it can be addicting. After my first dose I realized that it
didn’t matter what my Oxycodone dosage was, it was more than obvious that a transformation
took place-and it wasn’t pretty. My own 11 year old son stayed clear of me and
I sure didn’t like scratching my never ending itching body. The recommended Oxycodone
dosage for 325 mg tablets is 1-2 every six hours. Everyone has different
reactions to this Oxycodone dosage. It is suggested that you take with food or
you may have stomach upset. It didn’t matter what I ate, my stomach would not
tolerate this drug. While taking this Oxycodone dosage it was also suggested
that constipation may occur. I never experienced constipation, so these side
effects didn’t occur. While it was suggested to take as needed, I had
difficulty even with this. After a few days of feeling nauseated and crabby, I
decided that perhaps my shoulder pain wasn’t that bad.
While a doctor may prescribe a suggested Oxycodone dosage,
if you’re taking the drug for mild to severe pain-only you can decide how this Oxycodone
dosage affects your body. As for me, the pain in my shoulder didn’t seem as
severe as the constant nausea and mental side effects of irritability. One
evening I swore that there were bugs crawling in my hair and had my son inspect
my head to see if I was right. Hence-no bugs, just the nasty side effects of
Oxycodone and the Oxycodone dosage I was taking. The feeling of bugs crawling
around in my hair may not have anything to do with Oxycodone. It may have been
the prescribed Oxycodone dosage I was taking. Or perhaps, it was my body’s
reaction to the Oxycodone itself. Whatever the reason, I chose not to take any
Oxycodone, no matter what the Oxycodone dosage was. I could deal with my
cracked shoulder bone. I couldn’t deal with crawling bugs and feeling like the
wicked witch of the west. So I bid farewell to my bottle of Oxycodone! Is Oxycodone
dosage important? Yes and no. If it’s making you itch and feeling crabby and nauseous-perhaps
it’s time to reach for plain old Tylenol and visit your chiropractor!
